Axar Patel was the next man to get out after Sheldon Cottrell, another IPL debutant, caught the DC all-rounder behind the gates. The left arm pacemaker added another wicket to his balance on the last ball of the spell, dismissing R Ashwin.

DC needed something special and Marcus Stoinis delivered and how. The Australian all-rounder made an all-out attack and hammered 53 of 21 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Stoinis was eventually exhausted in the final, but not before hitting two fours and as many sixes to bring his team to 157/8.
