The under 14-year-old boys and girls teams can come to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, for the Asian development tennis events after a first ticket hick cup.
There are two back-to-back tournaments for the players. The top players of the event will make it into the Asian team and will be sent training and competition in Europe for about five weeks.
Expensive tickets had kept the All India Tennis Association (AITA) from setting up the two teams after the government refused to pay the bill.
The availability of Economy Class tickets on direct flights, however, has helped the boys and girls team first. The two teams will leave on May 3 one day earlier than planned, along with coach Nar Singh, whose visa has been processed.
The direct flight in a detour, as Pakistan has closed its airspace for flights, the team will bring to Tashkent within a few hours. The connecting flights took almost 24 hours and prevented the national association from implementing the original plan.
