Iranian and Indian Kababi teams arrived in Bahawalpur on Tuesday evening to attend “International Kabbadi Taakra”. International Kabaddi Taakra will begin on January 10 (today) under the auspices of the Sports Board Punjab (SBP) in Bahawalpur.
In addition to India and Iran, two teams from Pakistan – Green and White – are involved in the big event. Some of the best Indian and Iranian Kabaddi players will demonstrate their skills during the 4-day mega event.
SBP management committees have made arrangements to ensure the smooth running of International Kabaddi Taakra’s matches, in accordance with the instructions of Director-General Sportpunjab Nadeem Sarwar.
The opening match will be played on January 10, 2019 at 13.00 in the four-wall hockey field of the Dring Stadium between Iran and India. The second game of the event will be held on the same day and in the same location between Pakistan Green and Pakistan White.
Previously, a large reception was organized by the local Kabbadi Association and the district administration on the arrival of Iranian and Indian Kababi teams.
Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Shozab Saeed received the visiting teams amid the big show of local folk singers and jhomeries (dancers) on the drumbeat.
Indian Kabbadi players said they were happy to reach Bahawalpur, where people had shown their love and affection. “Kabbadi would strengthen relations between Pakistan and India,” they added.
