As International Tennis Federation (ITF) Executive Director Development Luca Santilli confirmed his visit to Pakistan on January 24, the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) expects additional financial support from the World Organization to offset the lost opportunity, the Davis Cup not to organize for almost ten years.
Salim Saifullah Khan, President of PTF, confirmed to The News that the second person in charge of the ITF, who controls virtually all tennis development worldwide, would be here on January 24th.
Salim Saifullah said that Pakistan has lost crucial time of ITF support in the recent past when the country was deprived of hosting the Davis Cup. During his visit, Luca Santilli will officially inaugurate the recently rebuilt Center Court and the four other courts that have been upgraded to international standards with Plexipave Cushion.
The ITF approved a $ 50,000 grant to PTF last year to help transform the five courts. Santilli will also formally launch the National Training Center (NTC), which will provide the country’s best professional tennis training services.
