“Japan vs Australia” Will Open The Show: Tokyo 2020 Olympics

At a press conference in Tokyo with Tayyab Ikram, member of the FIH Board and member of the IOC Olympic Solidarity Commission, Koji Murofushi, Tokyo 2020 Sports Director, Shihori Oikawa, Japanese national ice hockey player for women, and Seren Tanaka, Japanese national ice hockey team Men players, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) announced today the schedule of the Olympic ice hockey tournaments in Tokyo 2020.

The opening game will take place on July 25 (9:30 a.m. local time) in the FIH World Ranking in Australia. The first game of the women’s tournament will be played on the same day. The Netherlands, which top the FIH world rankings, compete against India (8:45 p.m. local time).

The gold medals for men and women will take place on August 6th and 7th.
