KKR started their campaign with a loss to Mumbai Indians (MI). But they bounced back in style, recording two straight wins against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). After losing their fourth game of the season to Delhi Capitals (DC), KKR will gain confidence in the spirited performance of Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi in the battle against CSK.

The unit led by MS Dhoni, however, will try to continue its winning run. While CSK started their IPL 2020 season with a win over MI, they lost their next three games – RR, DC and SRH. However, CSK put on a dominating show with the bat against KXIP, winning the game by 10 wickets to claim the second win of the season.

In Match 21 of the season, CSK is aiming for a second win in a row, while KKR wishes a successful return. These are the players who could improve the fortunes of their respective teams.

Eoin Morgan

Although Eoin Morgan has not yet scored fifty points in the 2020 IPL, England’s captain, who won the World Cup, is playing his role perfectly. While his 42 * and 32 * against SRH and RR played a big role in KKR’s victories, his 18-ball 44 kept KKR on the hunt against DC. The left-hander is again expected to do well with the bat.

Shane Watson

While having a couple of starts, Shane Watson failed to score a big goal in the first few games for CSK in the 2020 IPL. However, the CSK opener sensationally returned to form against KXIP, hammering an unbeaten 83 of 53 balls to stop CSK’s three. Match losing streak and lead them to the second win of the season. The former Australian all-rounder really wants to have a nice trip with the bat when CSK takes on KKR.

Andre Russell

There were some typical big sixes from Andre Russell, but the great West Indian all-rounder has yet to play that particular stroke of taking on the opposing bowlers and what better day than a day KKR takes on CSK.

Faf du Plessis

He was CSK’s most consistent performer in the 2020 IPL and currently ranks second in the list of leading run-getters with 282 runs against his name. Faf du Plessis scored an unbeaten 87 when he and Watson sealed CSK’s 10-wicket win over KXIP. The right-hander who scores more than fifty-three points in the current IPL season will take 21 runs to get the Orange Cap and he will try to score a big goal and get the coveted Orange Cap.

Shardul Thakur

While not playing in CSK’s XIs in the early games, Shardul Thakur contributed with the ball when CSK defeated KXIP. The pacemaker with his right arm was selecting Nicholas Pooran’s and KL Rahul’s two key gates when it looked like they were going to break apart. Shardul will be keen to repeat that feat against KKR, if not better.
