Pakistan cricket team will miss Shoaib Malik against England in their first two games this summer for personal reasons.
Malik has been granted 10 days’ leave from the Pakistan Cricket Board and will miss the T20 match in Cardiff on Sunday and the first one-day international on Kia Oval on May 8.
The experienced all-rounder is expected to return to the ODI in Southampton on May 11th.
The PCB has not given any further explanation for his absence.
In a statement, the Board said, “The Pakistani cricket team has given Shoaib Malik permission to come home to deal with a personal problem and is expected to return to the team in 10 days.
“The PCB will not comment further and expects everyone involved to respect the privacy of Shoaib.”
