Sarfaraz said despite the defeat of the national team against Australia in the ODI series, there is no panic as they still have plenty of time to prepare and reschedule their plans for the World Cup.
Pakistan have lost the series with five games 0-2 after both games were lost by eight goals.
Sarfaraz and five other players were rested by the ODIs in the UAE. All-rounder Faheem Ashraf was also sent home after the second game on Sunday to rest before the World Cup.
Sarfaraz recently led the Quetta Gladiators to the Pakistan Super League title and said it was the right time.
“The World Championship is a tough competition because of the format this time around, but we’ve made our preparations and we’ll have time to finalize our plans when we go to England and also play the ODI series against England and some practice games.” said Sarfaraz.
The skipper wore a Pakistani army uniform on Saturday to celebrate the gladiator’s title win at a special ceremony organized by the Baluchistan government.
Indian cricketers played stealth caps against Australia during the final ODI series to show respect for CRPF personnel killed in a terrorist attack in Pulwama.
