Oman defeated Nepal with only 64 points in the pentagonal T20I series and scored four out of four wins, while the Netherlands lagged behind Hong Kong in the other match of the day.
Netherlands vs Hong kong (Match 9)
The Netherlands have won after half a century with 185/4 against Tobias Visee and Roelof van der Merwe. Scott Edwards’ brisk 21-ball-42 gave them a boost at the end of their innings, while for Hong Kong, Kinchit Shah and Raag Kupar were the bowler’s picks, claiming 1/25 and 1/26, respectively.
After Nizakat Khan Hongkong missed a quick start, two wickets in two balls spread over two overs gave the game back towards the Dutch. Pieter Seelar threw himself in with a scalp and let the Asian team fight with 47/4. When Colin Ackermann dismissed Scott McKechnie Hong Kong 73/5 and Haroon Arshad’s 68 allowed them to knock out the overs, they were never in danger of chasing the runs. Glover scored twice in the final and finished the game with excellent numbers of 4/26.
Oman vs Nepal (Match 10)
The hosts held their perfect record in the series with a hammering from Nepal. Aamir Kaleem was the star who won 5/15 in four overs as Nepal slipped to 64. Only Aarif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airee made it double digits.
Oman did not have it in his own way in the chase. He slipped to 27/4 to raise hopes for an incredible comeback. Karan KC called for 2/27, while Sandeep Lamichanne and Sompal Kami each fired a batsman. Suraj Kumar played the deciding hand of the competition, beating six goals with 42 balls and 30 balls.
