England came from behind to win the test series against the West Indies and is now more confident in the series against Pakistan.
After two convincing wins over the West Indies in the past fortnight, England are hoping to face Pakistan, against whom they have not won a series of tests at home since 2011.
The 2-1 win over the West Indies brought England to third place in the ICC World Test Championship points table after 80 points. Two more victories in this series bring them to Australia, which is in second place.
Pakistan, on the other hand, is in fifth place, and even one win would make it tied with New Zealand. The visiting team has been in England for some time and has played two warm-up games within the squad.
But Misbah-ul-Haq, the head coach, has made it clear that the warm-up performance won’t affect the starting XI too much. It will be interesting to see if Sohail Khan, who collected two five-wicket moves in the two games and performed well in England with five-wicket moves in Birmingham and The Oval in 2016, did the cut at the beginning does XI.
Sohail could consider the selection for a place in the starting XI ahead of Mohammad Abbas, who averages 66.2 in his last two away series in South Africa and Australia. However, Abbas did quite well in the warm-up exercises and collected 10 gates in two tests on Pakistan’s previous tour of England in 2018.

Since the surface of Manchester is likely to alternate, Misbah has indicated that he will play two spinners. Pakistan could try to play three seafarers, and Yasir Shah with Shadab Khan, a spin bowling all-rounder.
England, especially its pace attack, is confident after the recent series win. The composition of the tempo attack could be checked again. You will likely keep the same team from the last test against the West Indies and may turn the sailors over the course of the series.
If Ben Stokes is suitable for bowling, they may consider skipping a fast bowler to play an additional batsman in Zak Crawley.

What Happened In Last Test Match?
The last two series of tests in England between these pages were drawn after Pakistan won tests at Lord’s (2016 and 2018) and The Oval (2016). England has a tendency to lose the first game in a series in recent years.
England has lost their first friendly in eight of the last ten test series, including the defeats against Pakistan at Lord’s in 2016 and 2018. England also lost the first test in Southampton to the West Indies in the recently completed series.

Chris Woakes: “I hope I’ve done enough to be in this starting line-up, but the competition is tough right now. We still have two of the greatest Englishmen who get wickets every time they play and play. ” We also have exciting fast bowlers. “
Misbah-ul-Haq: “There was absolutely nothing for Spinner in 2016, but now when we watch games they are completely different and it looks like it is in our favor and we will play our chances. “
