Premier League Transfer Window: All You Need To Know About

The last round of Premier League matches of 2019/20 season will be played tonight, all matches are scheduled to kick-off at 8:30 PM Indian Standard Time. The 2019/20 season of Premier League was extended due to the Coronavirus. The fight for the top four is still on between Chelsea, Manchester United and Leicester City.

Before the last round of matches, Manchester United stands on 3rd place ahead of Chelsea on 4th with both teams on 63 points, however due to goal difference United is placed above Chelsea, while Leicester City stands 5th with 62 points.

Chelsea will face Wolves, while Manchester United will face Leicester City in the last round of 2019-20 Premier League. While the Premier League ends tonight, the transfer business in England will start from Tomorrow. English Football Federation held a meeting earlier and it was decided that the transfer window will start the day after Premier League ends, 27th July.

When Will Transfer Window Open ?

In a meeting earlier, Premier League clubs voted to start the summer transfer window the day after Premier League ends, on 27th July, Monday and will continue to run till 10 weeks.

When Will Transfer Window End ?

The Premier League summer transfer window starts on 27th July and all the teams will have 10 weeks to complete all the transfer till October 5, 11 PM UK time. As per UEFA’s suggestions, all the European league’s transfer window will end no later than 5th of October.


Premier League clubs has been given October 6 deadline to register squads for Champions League and Europa League by UEFA. Earlier this month, the transfer window opened for only one day on 1st July, which gave Chelsea and some other clubs to complete their pre-contract signings.

Chelsea completed the signing of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, but as the season has not ended yet, the players are not allowed to play for their new clubs this season.

Coronavirus Effect

The Coronavirus pandemic set to play a big role in transfer market this summer as well as in the winter transfer window. Many players who are already contracted has taken a pay cut while transfers this window are likely to be cheaper than expected.


The big moves already has taken place this season are, Chelsea signing Timo Werner from RB Leipzig and Hakim Ziyech from Ajax while Manchester City’s Leroy Sane moved over to Germany to play for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.


While also there are many big transfer rumours still circulating in transfer market such as, Manchester United interested in Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Chelsea looking to bring in Germany’s wonderkid Kai Havertz.

Though a lot of teams have suffered from the Coronavirus, but it seems like there is no stoppage in transfer as teams are still looking to bring in big money players.
