The newly elected president of the Pakistan Football Association (PFF), Syed Ashfaq Hussain Shah, has called on FIFA to send a committee of inquiry to investigate matters that led to the PFF elections rather than suspend them.
The FIFA Football Association has threatened the PFF with a ban, stating that the elections held by order of the Supreme Court are considered interference by third parties in the affairs of the PFF.
However, Shah said that FIFA must investigate the matter before deciding anything. “We want FIFA to send a commission of inquiry. We will formally write to you with this request, “he said, speaking to the media in Karachi.
“We will also send our delegations to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and FIFA to share our point of view,” he said, adding, “FIFA and AFC need to know what has happened in Pakistan and how Faisal Saleh Hayat has done with the Football was handled and why elections were held. “
Shah further stated that despite the ban, the PFF will continue to work to improve the standard of football in the country, so that Pakistan can be prepared. “We are not there for personal goals, we are here for the interest of Pakistani football and our football players,” he said.
