Multan Sultans celebrated their second consecutive home win in the HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Friday, defeating Karachi Kings by a comfortable lead of 52 runs.
A good bowling performance, led by spinners Imran Tahir and Shahid Afridi, who shared five gates, set the tone for the Sultans’ comfortable win after their batsmen won a match of 186 for six first innings.
Sohail Tanvir, who scored four goals in the Sultan’s win against Peshawar Zalmi on Wednesday, took two goals for 20 runs.
Alex Hales at 29 and Umaid Asif 20 were the only batsmen who resisted, which was a less than the inspiring beating of the kings.
After being asked to hit the throw, the sultans recorded an impressive 186 for a total of six in their 20 overs, which the opener and match man Moeen Ali and captain Shan Masood allocated with courtesy of half a century.
The two added 71 runs for the second wicket partnership after Zeeshan Ashraf (23 of 13 balls) gave the hosts a flying start in a 31-run opening booth with Moeen.
Moeen hit four fours and as many sixes in his 65 innings, which came from 42 balls; He was the second wicket to fall. Shan also hit 42 balls and scored 61 runs using seven fours and a six.
Khushdil Shah (10) was the only other hitter to reach double digits because Sultan’s innings were based on Moeen and Shan’s contributions.
The Pacers Mohammad Amir and Chris Jordan each took two gates for Kings, Amir 27 and Jordan 29 runs in their four over-spells.
