Scotland have announced their squad for the third round of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, with Sharjah and Dubai facing both the US and the UAE.
Scotland will return to the UAE in December after qualifying for the ICC Men’s T20 World Championship next month.
Announcing the squad, head coach Shane Burger said: “We have selected a squad that has a mix of youth and experience. Our focus will be on succeeding and keeping an eye on the future of the Scottish Cricket.
“It will be a great challenge to return to the UAE and we feel good about the conditions and terrain we will be playing after we have just returned from our successful ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifying campaign . “
“The Cricket World Cup League Two trip is long and exciting and gives us the opportunity to qualify for a 50+ World Cup qualifier.”
Michael Leask, Oliver Hairs, Adrian Neill and Tom Sole were eliminated from the squad, which finished fifth in qualifying with Dylan Budge, Michael Jones and Stuart Whittingham.
In Scotland’s first game, they will face the United States at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on December 9, before meeting the UAE two days later at the same venue. They will face the United States again at the ICC Academy Oval 1 in Dubai on December 14, before completing the UAE tour the same day at the same venue.
