Scotland has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2020.
Scotland remained undefeated this year in the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Europe Qualifier and will be supported in Group C by Bangladesh, Pakistan, nd Zimbabwe next month in the global tournament starting next month.
Gordon Drummond, coach of the squad, said: “The squad is pleased to have the opportunity to attend the upcoming U19 World Cricket Championship in South Africa. It’s a tough group, but one that also offers a fantastic opportunity to take some full member heads that I know the boys are focused on achieving.
“Our team is diverse and has a great team spirit that they showed during the ICC U19 Europe Cricket World Cup qualifier [in which Scotland topped the group]. They have been training hard all winter and are looking forward to the outdoor preparation in Dubai leading to the tournament.
“The players have set themselves some goals that they can certainly achieve, if they play with skill and conviction.”
The Scottish campaign against Pakistan begins on 19 January. They will face Bangladesh two days later and compete against Zimbabwe on 25 January.
