All-rounder Shoaib Malik believes that Pakistan has a “very good chance” to win the 2019 World Cup, which will be held in England and Wales.
Malik said it will only be possible if the team do well in the Cricket Marquee tournament against the rest of the world.
“I think we have a very good chance of winning the tournament, but then a good chance does not mean much – how we play each game and how we play against the rest of the world will determine how far we are going.” Malik said Sky Sports.
He further said that Pakistan has the opportunity to undoubtedly win the World Cup, adding that “skills do not win, perform well.”
Malik said he is personally out to make the 2019 World Cup memorable.
According to the 36-year-old all-rounder, Pakistan’s capabilities include top ODI athletes and batsmen in their lineup. “I’m looking forward to a memorable World Cup 2019.”
Pakistan’s World Cup victory in One-Day International (ODI) format came in 1992, but the Allrounder believes his team can win the tournament this year.
Pakistan will start in the World Cup campaign against the Antilles on 31 May. They will later host England and compete against India on 16 June
