Chamari Athapaththu won the Sri Lanka Annual Cricket Awards 2019 on Tuesday, December 3, and won four of the seven women’s awards.
Athapaththu, the T20I captain, was named the best batsman in both white-ball formats, the best all-rounder in ODIs and the best cricketer of the year. The award was a tribute to a glorious run in 2019, when 297 and 271 runs from nine innings were combined into ODIs and T20Is. Her 113 in the first T20I against Australia in September in Sydney was one of the highlights of the year.
ODI captain Shashikala Siriwardene was named Best Bowler and Best All-rounder in T20Is, while the veteran Oshadi Ranasinghe was named Best Bowler in ODI Cricket.

In the men’s categories, Test Captain Karunaratne, who helped Sri Lanka with the first Test against New Zealand in Galle with a Century winner for the first time in the ICC Test Championship, won the Test Batting Award, Dilruwan Perera and Dhananjaya de Silva became the best bowlers respectively. The allrounder has chosen.
Lasith Malinga, the T20I captain, won the best bowler on ODIs and T20Is. The 36-year-old Pacer brought 44 gates from 27 Limited Overs games during this period. His most notable performance was scored in the round of 16 at Headingley in the ICC Men’s World Cup cricket match in 2019 against eventual champions England, where he forced his team to a 20-round victory with a 4:43 victory.
Kusal Perera won both limited-overs-batting awards, while Thisara Perera was the best ODI all-rounder and Isuru Udana won the T20Is award.
Also recognized was Kumar Dharmasena, who contested the second semifinals and the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 for men.
A total of 50 international and domestic performances were awarded between September 1, 2018, and August 31, 2019.
