The fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League will take place in Pakistan without matches in the United Arab Emirates, said Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry.
“We will bring PSL completely back to Pakistan in 2020,” Chaudhry said at a Sunday event in Dubai. He said PSL-2019 is the latest edition of the big Pakistan Twenty20 Cricket Tournament to be held this year in Dubai.
“I urge all Pakistanis living in the United Arab Emirates to go to the stadium to watch matches as this is the last time the tournament takes place here,” he said. The call came in response to the community’s weak response last year, as the stadium remained empty during the last PSL games in Dubai. “This is the event of your country, make it successful,” he said.
The Dubai-based ARY Group, which includes a team of Karachi Kings, launched a campaign titled “Maidan Sajana Hai” in the United Arab Emirates to incentivize residents to watch matches in the stadium.
PSL-2019 starts on February 14 with defending champions Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars. The 2015 Franchise Twenty20 Cricket League was established by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) years when international cricket players refused to go to Pakistan for security reasons.
The fourth edition of the eagerly awaited league begins on February 14th and finishes with the final, which will take place on March 17, 2019, in the National Stadium of Karachi. Karachi Kings will play his opening match against Multan Sultans in Dubai on 15 February.
Of the total of 34 games, the final eight games of the PSL-2019 will be played in Lahore and Karachi, while the final of the tournament will be held on 17 March in Karachi. The remaining games will be played in Dubai, Sharjah and Australia Abu Dhabi.
The ceremonial opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League 2019 will take place on February 14, 2019 in Dubai with some of the biggest names in the global and Pakistani entertainment industry.
It is expected that the American rapper Pitbull will call the opening ceremony of the PSL a headline, but it will not only be limited to him as a Pakistani band Junoon and the pop band of a bygone era, also Boney M will make itself felt. Others are the stars of Young Desi, Fawad Khan, Aima Baig and Shuja Haider, who want to make the start of the fourth season of the PSL shine.
This opening ceremony will be followed by PSL04’s first match between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars.
Last season, there was a good demand for PSL tickets in the league’s league points before a crescendo came when the play-offs and the final came to Pakistan.
