The ICC Women’s World Cricket Championship, which was held in New Zealand in February 2021, was postponed to February to March of the following year. The qualifying tournament to decide the three remaining teams to join the hosts and the top four teams that have already made their entry will take place in 2021.

“Since the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup concluded earlier this year, international cricket has not been played for women. Given the varying effects of COVID-19 around the world, this is likely to remain the situation for some teams,” said the Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said in a statement.
“If you postpone the event for 12 months, all participating teams will have the opportunity to play a sufficient level of cricket before the qualifying tournament and before a World Cricket Championship to maintain the integrity of the tournament.”
