Viewership Increased World Wide In Second Season OF Global T20 Canada Cricket League

After its debut season in 2018, Global T20 Canada has grown bigger, better and stronger this year. In the second season, the attendance of the opening game of last year increased twelve times compared to the audience worldwide, while the attendance in the stadium with 5,000 seats were almost full.

The third day of this annual cricket tournament begins tomorrow, July 27, with the Toronto Nationals and the Edmonton Royals at 12:30 pm EST and the Montreal Tigers and Brampton Wolves at 4:30 pm EST.

“It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and support and an almost full house at our opening match. We expect that at least 100,000 tickets will be sold by the end of the season, significantly exceeding the previous year, “said Gurmeet Singh, chairman of the tournament.

“We are sold out for our third day and because of these recent visitor trends, we are optimistic that we will exceed the total number of visitors and viewers on the fifth day of the tournament last year,” Singh added.

This year, the tournament introduced the GT20 Official Mobile App on Android iOS to create a new fan experience with forward-looking social technology. The organizers assume that with this mobile app the viewer numbers will be transferred to more than 1 billion people worldwide.

Broadcasting the tournament on television in 67 countries outside of Canada and using the mobile app, the organizers are aiming to make GT20 the second most watched and socially engaged sporting event on all platforms worldwide.

The tournament will take place from 25th July to 11th August 2019. All games take place on the newly built 5,000-seat cricket ground at the CAA Sports Center on 7575 Kennedy Road South in Brampton.
