Sophie Devine’s all-round brilliance has led the Adelaide Strikers to a sweeping 57 run against the Melbourne Stars and to the top of the Rebel WBBL table.
Devine cracked an undefeated 77 on Saturday to lift the strikers to 2-153, before narrowing the bottom to 8-96 on 3-13 against Nuriootpa, north of Adelaide.

Six days after Stars Wrist spinner Maddy Penna’s famed start for five-six, Devine continued her purple streak, beating three sixes in her 58-ball strike.
The strikers lost captain Suzie Bates (18) and Tahlia McGrath (10) before Devine – with her fourth 50 in a row – combined with Bridget Patterson (41 not eliminated) lost the last 11 overs to make the stars stagger.
Only Beth Mooney from Brisbane and Sydney Sixer Ellyse Perry have more runs in this series than Devines 412 with 68.66. Devine is also WBBL’s leading wicket-taker at 13.38, 13, after tearing apart the top order of the stars.
She grabbed the formatted South African duo Lizelle Lee (five) and Mignon du Preez (five) in their first two overs and when stars skipper Elyse Villani left for five, the visitors were 3-20 after the powerplay and never threatened a restoration.
102 run partnership between Sophie Devine (77*) and Bridget Patterson (41*) steers the Strikers to 2-153 from their 20 overs.

Nicola Hancock did her best to give stars a career-best 26 credit, but the damage Devine had already done was far too severe.
