Yesterday’s meeting of the IBC Board of Directors (the ICC’s commercial subsidiary), windows for the next three ICC men’s events were also agreed to clarify the calendar and give the sport the best possible opportunity to get away from it in the next three years to recover from the disorder caused by COVID-19.

The T20 World Championship 2021 for ICC men will take place from October to November 2021. The final will take place on November 14, 2021
The T20 World Championship 2022 for ICC men will take place from October to November 2022. The final will take place on November 13, 2022
The ICC Men’s 2023 Cricket World Cup will take place in India from October to November 2023. The final will take place on November 26, 2023
The IBC Board agreed to continue to monitor the rapidly changing situation and evaluate all available information to make a well-considered decision about future hosts to ensure that the sport was safe and successful global events in 2021 and 2022 can host.
The IBC Board will continue to assess the situation regarding the implementation of the 2021 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand in February next year. In the meantime, the planning for this event will continue as planned.

“The decision to postpone the ICC Men’s T20 World World Cup 2020 was made after carefully reviewing all of the options available to us, and is giving us the best possible opportunity to deliver two safe and successful T20 World Championships to fans around the world.
“Our members now have the clarity they need regarding event windows to reschedule lost bilateral and domestic cricket. Moving the men’s cricket world championship to a later window is a key element and gives us a better chance of maintaining the integrity of the qualification process. This extra time is used to reschedule games that could be lost due to the pandemic to ensure that the qualification can be decided on the field.
