India : Squad Announcement Date (15 April)
The No. 2 of the ODI ranking, including India, is one of the favorites of the tournament and will announce its squad next Monday.
The winners of the year 2011 are a fairly well settled unit whose Achilles heel is the No. 4 stroke position. Ambati Rayudu, Dinesh Karthik, KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane have all played for the role, and their IPL performances may well predict whether they will make the final cut.
Pakistan : Squad Announcement Date (18 April)
The winners of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in Pakistan are among the place holders of the World Cup. Sure, their recent form has been somewhat worrying, but they are a team that can not really be written off in a big event.
They’ve put together a 23-man probables squad that practices fitness exercises and workouts. They will limit the team to 15 on April 18th. The five games of the ODI series in England in early May should provide a strong preparation for the marquee event.
South Africa : Squad Announcement Date (18 April)
The team used the latest series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka to test new candidates for the World Cup. Continuing internationals have also allowed the candidates to present themselves, even though Aiden Markram started the season in England.
The form of Hashim Amla was one of the big questions for them, and although JP Duminy, Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje have come up with an injury cloud, they are all likely to form the squad.
Afghanistan: Announced A Preliminary Squad
Just a few weeks before the start of the big event, Afghanistan made the big and sudden decision to drop Asghar Afghan as team captain. Instead, he has handed over the duties to Gulbadin Naib.
Afghan is involved in a 23-member Preliminary Squad Training in South Africa along with 22 other participants. They will play six practice games before a final squad is announced. It is planned to play four ODIs before the World Cup – two each against Ireland and Scotland.
Bangladesh : Squad Announcement Date (From 15 April To 20 April )
Although Habibul Bashar has made no official announcement, he recently said that he hoped to call a squad somewhere between April 15 and 20 after completing a 50-plus domestic tournament. A World Cup camp is planned from April 24th.
The team has a solid core of players, and although recent ODI outings have not gone exactly to plan, the older core remains intact. The tri-series against windies and Ireland will be of great importance to them.
England : Squad Announcement Date Not Yet Confirmed
Not only are they the home team, but they are also # 1 in the MRF Tires ICC Men’s ODI Rankings. The big question is whether to bring Jofra Archer into the game, who recently qualified for the country and will not play a game for them yet, but was on radar due to strong performances in T20 leagues around the world. England is expected to play six ODIs before the World Cup. At the beginning of May, five games will be played against Pakistan.
Australia : Squad Announcement Date Not Yet Confirmed
The five-time winners are suddenly well-positioned for a good run after winning their last eight ODIs in India and the UAE. They can delay the announcement of the squad as much as possible to have more time to review the form of David Warner and Steve Smith in the IPL, both of whom have recently returned from twelve-month suspensions.
They have planned a training camp for the beginning of May and some practice games against New Zealand.
West Indies : Squad Announcement Date Not Yet Confirmed
Several stars from the region are represented in various Indian Premier League teams, and a large selection could be made as the players in the T20 tournament prevail. Since it is likely that Chris Gayle and Andre Russell will be eligible for the selection, West Indies could become a really strong looking team in the run-up to the World Cup. They will feature alongside Ireland in an ODI tri series in Ireland prior to the tournament in May.
Sri Lanka : Squad Announcement Date Not Yet Confirmed
There is currently a one-day Cup of Sri Lanka Province helping the selectors win over strong candidates for the cut. The tournament ends on April 11 and it is estimated that the squad will be announced soon.
The country’s recent ODI assets were dwindling, so some places could be taken. Until May 23, some ODI are scheduled in Scotland.
