Only 99 days left until the start of the biggest women’s sporting event ever in Australia.
Global pop superstar Katy Perry will perform exclusively at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 finals on Sunday, March 8, International Women’s Day, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Perry will perform both during the pre-game and post-game show and will be part of what is likely to be the biggest women’s cricket match ever.
The MCG final, held under lights, is a groundbreaking opportunity to set a new world record for participating in a women’s sports event on the day when equality and women’s achievements are celebrated worldwide. The current record number of 90,185 spectators was set in 1999 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Final in Pasadena, California.

The announcement coincides with the remaining 99 days to the start of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Hosts and defending champions Australia meet on Friday, February 21, 2020, at the Sydney Showground Stadium on India.
