The test cricket is the old formate of cricket which is the longest form of cricket. When we talk about test cricket then how can we forget about Pakistan test cricket that was discontinued for a long time.
Pakistan’s little test history
Pakistan made its test debut in 1952 and played their first test match in October against India in Delhi, it was the five test matches series which won India by 2-1.
In 1954 first time Pakistan tour of England and drew the series by 1-1 with a memorable victory in the oval, where the fast bowler Fazal Mahmood took 12 wickets. Pakistan’s first home game against India took place in January 1955 Dhaka. After that, four more friendly matches were played in Bahawalpur, Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi (all five games in the series were drawn, the first such game in the test history).
Test Cricket Back To Home
Test cricket returns to Pakistan after 10 years 9 months and 8 days. After 3rd March 2009, no Test match has been played on Pak soil. All Pakistani cricketers will be playing a test match at home ground for the first time including Azhar Ali & Asad Shafiq who have played 75 & 69 Tests.

Pakistan will compete against Sri Lanka in two tests in Rawalpindi and Karachi starting Wednesday, December 11. Even more, moving is the fact that it is Sri Lanka, the very team whose bus was attacked in 2009, after which international tours in the country have dried up and marked the return.
Former Pakistani players thanked Sri Lanka Cricket and the players for working with the Pakistan Cricket Board to make the tour a reality. They were happy that a new generation of fans could now see their heroes in the flesh.
“I’m particularly pleased with the players and the fans who suffered a drought of Test Cricket at home for a decade,” said Ramiz Raja, who will be involved in the commentary on the game. “Being able to play on home soil in front of your home crowd would have been a matter of course, but unfortunately a whole generation of Pakistani cricketers missed it! Well, everything that is ending now, and here’s a new beginning forever!

Shoaib Malik, who played in the last series of tests between the teams in Pakistan, said: “The return of the test cricket to Pakistan is a very emotional moment for me when I retired from the Red Ball Cricket, I knew that I was I knew test cricket would return to Pakistan, Inshallah, but now that it’s here, I feel very emotional.
“I must thank the Sri Lankan team and the Sri Lankan Bureau for taking this step and making a significant contribution to bringing international cricket back to our country and people, we will never forget, may this time never come, but, Inshallah, you will find us in times of need, hand in hand with Sri Lanka and its people. “
