After earning a historic test victory against hosts Bangladesh earlier this week, Afghanistan will try to maintain the intensity of the T20Is as they compete against Zimbabwe in their first Tri-Series game on Saturday, September 14th.
Afghanistan scored an impressive 224-run victory in a single test against the hosts, thanks to an inspiring all-round performance by newly appointed skipper Rashid Khan. They are now returning to their favorite format, the T20 cricket, where they have scored a 69 percent victory record in 71 games and won every one of their last ten games.
Rashid hopes his players will be consistent with the upcoming ICC men’s 2020 T20 World Cup, as Afghanistan wants to build a solid core ahead of the mega-event.
Zimbabwe plans to return to Bangladesh following the defeat in the opening game of the series, although Ryan Burl can at least build on something in the formidable New Ball spells of Tendai Chatara and Kyle Jarvis.

Hamilton Masakadza Said:
“The most important thing for the players is to focus on cricket and then do everything possible to do their job for your country, and although I know that both teams are very strong, we have many successes in Twenty20 Cricket here, so I think we’re not far behind. “
Rashid Khan Said:
We had the best preparation for the test and it was a challenge for the batsmen, they applied. The focus is now shifting to the T20 series and we will do our best to continue to enjoy the format.
