Sri Lanka has announced their team for the T20 series starting on January 5 against India. Veteran Angelo Mathews has returned to the Sri Lankan team. He got a place in the T20 team after 18 months. Mathews often struggled with injuries due to which he was kept out of the team but now these experienced players are fully fit. At the same time, Sri Lanka has removed Shehan Jayasuriya from the team. Let me tell you that Mathews has experience of 370 international matches in which he has scored 12 centuries.
However, it is believed that the team of Sri Lanka, who won the T20 series in Pakistan, will hardly change their playing eleven. The team has players like Kusal Perera, Danushka Gunathilaka, Avishka Fernando, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Oshada Fernando. At the same time, Niroshan Dickwella and Kusal Mendis are also in the team.
Talking about the bowlers, Sri Lanka has given place to four fast bowlers and three spinners in their T20 team. The team will also have services of leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and chinaman bowler Sandakan and off-spinner Lakshan Sandakan.
Lasith Malinga will lead the team once again, though, Angelo Mathews has returned but Sri Lankan team selectors opted to stay with Malinga as a captain of the team.
