FC Goa have signed former Spain’s junior international player Igor Angulo. The Spanish forward belongs from Basque region of Spain and has signed a one year contract with the Goa based club.
The 36 years old experienced forward has spent his past few years playing in Poland and has been a dominant player there. His last team before joining FC Goa was Górnik Zabrze, a first tier team of Polish league.
With the amount of experience, his age won’t be a much of a factor as the player is most likely to continue his Poland league form when arrives here in India.
Igor Angulo is a product of Athletic Bilbao youth system and has made 114 appearance for the Górnik Zabrze team and has scored 67 goals and 14 assists. Such brilliant performance led to the team getting promoted to the Polish top tier league.

“I am excited at the prospect of playing for FC Goa and it is an adventure that I am keen to start at the earliest.” Igor Angulo told to FC Goa official.

“Another big thing that stood out is I like the mentality of the club. It’s filled with winners, always fighting for the biggest honours. And that’s what I want to do when I come in.” he further added.
Ravi Puskar, the Director of Football of FC Goa stated, “We’re excited to bring Igor on board to FC Goa. He’s a proven, serial goal-scorer with experience across multiple countries in Europe and we’re confident he will prove an ideal fit for our style of football.
“Igor’s natural goal-scoring ability was a clear standout when we first looked at him, but his leadership prowess and competitive nature with strong desire to win is something we feel will add immense value to our dressing room.
“His time in Gornik has made him a legend and a household name in Polish football and we hope that he will have a similar impact for FC Goa and its fans.” he added.
With this singing, FC Goa officially completed their first foreign signing of this season, earlier they extended Edu Bedia and Lenny Rodriguez’s contract while signed Redeem Tlang, Makan Chothe and Sanson Pereira. FC Goa also promoted Leander D’Cunha to the senior side from the reserve team.
