Oman is confident to maintain his record on home turf as he prepares to host the 5-nation T20 series with Ireland, Nepal, and the Netherlands and Hong Kong.
Starting on Saturday, October 5, the highly anticipated series is the perfect preparation for the 14-nation qualifier for the ICC T20 World Cup, to be held in the UAE later this month.
Oman has had notable successes in international events in recent years and was unbeaten yet in the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 3 in 2018 against high caliber teams such as the USA, Singapore, Kenya, Denmark and Uganda and previously in the WCL Division 2 at the top was lost to Namibia in the final in April 2019. As a result, it is currently ranked 15th in the ICC ODI ranking.

Much hard work has been done in preparing for two international tournaments. After a long training camp in the domestic T20 League followed by a series of competitive games.
“Our boys are in pretty good shape and they are doing well in the practice games. In particular, the fast bowlers benefited from the coaching skills of Avishkar (Salvi), who worked on more specific details of their strengths and weaknesses. I’ve noticed that they are now bowling with more confidence than before. This confidence will certainly help us in our next games, “said Duleep Mendis, Oman’s head coach.
When Mendis was asked about the harder teams in the T20 series, he said that all teams are strong and hard to beat.
“A test team like Ireland can not be taken lightly, they are all professional teams with experienced activists, and we are lucky to have the opportunity to compete against strong teams before the World Cup qualifiers, which will put our trust in the main event of the ICC Strengthen this month, “he added.
