With Asia kicking off last month, it’s up to Africa to focus on the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 . Just ten days after Algeria’s victory in the CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 2019, the continent will draw for the first qualifying round of the flagship of football.

Qualification Process
Only 28 teams on the continent, the lowest in the FIFA / Coca-Cola World Ranking list in July, will participate in the draw. These teams are paired for the knockout stages at home and away.
The teams of the first qualifying round are composed of: Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Seychelles, Sao Tome, Chad, South Sudan, Gambia, Mauritius, Liberia, Ethiopia, Comoros, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Togo, Malawi, Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, Namibia, Central African Republic and Tanzania.
The 14 winners will move to the top 26 teams on the continent who are excluded from the first qualifying round. These 40 teams will then split into ten groups of four in the second qualifying round.
The ten winners of these groups are then drawn in home and away games against each other, with the five winners advance to Qatar 2022.
