Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc believes that the versatility of his team’s bowling attack, which offers a wide selection, makes him ready for any conditions.
Australia took just 52.3 overs to power out England in the second innings of the first Test in Edgbaston. The depth of their bowling attack and the quality of the bank’s strength could be underscored by the fact that Starc and Josh Hazlewood, two of their front bowlers, scored 43 goals in 2017 in Australia’s 4-0 triumph at Ashes. 18, were overlooked for James Pattinson and Peter Siddle.
Starc said his teammates’ different approaches and abilities make them able to adapt to any game condition.

“We have a couple of slightly more aggressive guys, a couple of guys putting up pressure and taking the wickets like that, and a couple of guys that are probably a mix of both.” said Sydney-born Pacer. “We’re a pretty well-rounded attack, and then you throw in Nathan Lyon, who just knows how to do it in all conditions.
“We are prepared for any conditions, whether flat, green, seamless, swinging, slow or fast, it is exciting to have everyone on their feet and have a wide choice.”
Pattinson and Siddle, who both made a comeback in the Australian Test squad after a while (2016 and 2018), dropped two wickets in each of the first innings, maintaining their accuracy in the second as Lyon and Cummins dominated. Starc praised the duo, adding that he and Hazlewood are working harder to reach the XI due to their strong performance.
“It’s great to see Jimmy (Pattinson) after he’s gone through, and I also think what Pat Cummins went through before,” Starc said. “It’s been a while, but to get these guys fit and firing, it was fantastic to see him (Pattinson) playing test cricket again, it was special when his body failed him and came back He’s someone who Josh and I grew up with, it was great to see him out there. “
“‘Sidds did the hard work and made it back, and I think that’s very exciting from the bowling point of view, that we’re all a very close group of friends, to see your friends make it back and the baggy Green pull back and so well in the test match, that’s exciting for us.
“It gets Josh and me to work a little harder to try and make it again, and I think that’s what you want from a whole squad.”
Starc, who finished as the leading wicket taker in the 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, is scheduled for the second test at Lord’s on 14 August. In the two games that he played on stage during the World Cup, the left-wing Pacer put in nine gates and provided some big names like Joe Root and Kane Williamson.
For Australia’s Senior Paceman, the goal is to win the ashes, before personal success.
“We are not just here to make it in the park, we want to win this ashes,” he said. “It’s pretty exciting if it’s a different bowling attack in each game or the same in five friendly matches.”
