Fawad Alam has been appointed to the Pakistan Test squad for his historic home series against Sri Lanka starting in Rawalpindi on Wednesday, December 11th.
34-year-old Alam returns to the test after a decade, having last played in the format against New Zealand in Dunedin in November 2009. He has earned a recall after showing good form in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy – Pakistan’s first-class domestic competition.
The top batsman has won 781 runs with 71 in the competition and won four hundred and fifty-six. In his last six games for Sindh, he scored 116, 211, 65, 107, 29 * and 92. The three hundred were all scored at the National Stadium in Karachi, the venue of Pakistan’s second test against Sri Lanka.
