"Teams used to think that they could just squeeze him, but to develop all the shots that he's got now, he's a super-important player to us, and bloody impressive to watch.”

South Africa has held the advantage in the recent ODI duels between teams, winning seven of their last eight games against Australia in two series, including a 5-0 home win at the end of 2016.
But these statistics won’t matter much if the teams compete against each other in Boland Park in the first game of this series. Australia has been on the rise since March 2019 when they defeated India in their back yard and has shown little sign of stopping since Steve Smith and David Warner’s return to setup.
Australia’s eyelash looks particularly impressive with the presence of these two, Aaron Finch and Marnus Labuschagne. Your bowling unit, led by Mitchell Starc, is just as threatening but tends to have a day off every now and then.
Australia has struggled for balance at times, and this is where all-rounder Mitchell Marsh can come into play to give stability to the middle order while at the same time becoming a reliable sixth bowling option.

Australians made big gains in the latest update after their 2-1 win over South Africa.#SAvAUShttps://t.co/Fo29SRSpbX
Young South Africa, led by Quinton de Kock, will do its job and the captain must set a good example for the inexperienced striker. The bowling attack with Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, and Tabraiz Shamsi is more likely to cause serious problems for Australia.
What Happened Last Time?
Australia stumbled in an apparently straightforward chase in the second game to miss the chance of a clean win, but made no such mistake in the first and third T20I and won those games with 107 and 97 runs respectively.
The teams last met in an ODI at the World Cup when South Africa, driven by a century of Faf du Plessis, scored 325/6, which Australia missed by 10 runs despite Warner’s outstanding 122. Kagiso Rabada took three gates into play.
