Several players were rewarded for their form in the Caribbean Premier League with calls for the West Indies tour of Afghanistan 2019.
The tournament’s leading runscorer and wicket-taker, Brandon King and Hayden Walsh Jr., each received a pre-selection, while Lendl Simmons, who finished in second place in the Run charts, scored his first since 2017.
Bat King and leg spinner Walsh Jr. were also inducted into the ODI squad, along with international freshman Romario Shepherd, a low-pitched right-hander and bat.

As previously announced, Keiron Pollard returns as captain of the two limited liability troops, while former T20I skipper Carlos Brathwaite is absent in all three units. Test and ex-ODI captain Jason Holder finds a place in all three squads.
Andre Russell and Chris Gayle are the two other notable absentees in the White Ball squad, whose international future is currently being discussed, while Darren Bravo, who has been in all five West Indies tests this year, has not since appeared in 2016 and the fast bowler Shannon Gabriel have both missed the test selection.
West Indies play three T20Is, three ODIs and one test against Afghanistan between November 5 and December 1 in Dehradun, India.
