The Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) is holding two international events this year to nurture its technical leaders and focus the game on modern lines of coaching.
“Holding two elite softball activities is a big step forward to pushing the game on solid lines in the country,” a SEP spokesman said while speaking to APP this Wednesday.
He said it was the first time in a country’s softball history that two events were being organized to strengthen the technical officials of the game.
This year, the Olympic Solidarity Course of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Softball Asia Coaching Clinic of the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC) will be held, he added.
He said that the courses will help provide the latest coaching knowledge and participants will also be taught to change the rules of the game.
The spokesman said that SEP had developed an ambitious activity plan to promote the game in a modern way by focusing on the root level. “Soon we will organize an Inter-School Championship and the Inter-City Softball League is also organized to motivate the youngsters to use the softball as a sport,” he added.
“It is an encouraging aspect that women are very interested in softball and are increasing every day they attend school, collegiate and university softball competitions,” he said, adding: big cities to identify talent building a strong national softball women’s national team. “
The Sindh Softball Association is organizing the Women’s Floodlight Softball Championship between April 26th and 28th in Hyderabad.
“On the occasion of World Softball Day on June 13, the first beach softball festival will take place in Karachi,” he said, adding. “
Pakistani referees will attend the Softball Asia Umpiring Course in July. “
He highlighted the football activity plan and said that Essa Laboratories’ inter-school softball championship will be held in Karachi from 18 to 24 July. Karachi will host the Softball Asia Pakistan Coaching Clinic from August 20-24, where international coaches train Pakistani coaches and players.
The 15th edition of the National Women’s Softball Championship will take place from 26 to 28 August in Karachi. The National Men’s Softball Championship will be held in Abbottabad in September.
The Omar Associates Inter-City Softball League will be held in Karachi in October. There, teams from Lahore, Quetta, Islamabad, Peshawar and host Karachi are seen in action. Each team can play with two international players. Malaysia and Dubai also invite foreign coaches and referees.
The Indonesia Softball Association has invited Pakistan to participate in the Indonesia Men’s Open Championship, which will be held in Jakarta in October. IOC Solidarity Technical Course will be held in Lahore in November. Lahore will also host a junior softball championship in December.
