The three countries are exploring the possibility of starting a new league that will consist of franchise companies in each country starting this year.
It would be the first cross-border competition of its kind in cricket.
A spokesman for Cricket Scotland confirmed that “they had been approached by a number of third parties” who were interested in working with them.

“While a number of models have been considered and stakeholder advocacy consulted, we are currently exploring the potential of a tri-nation league,” said Cricket Scotland.
“As part of this process, we conduct a due diligence review of a proposal to conduct such a contest and will update that process in due course, should that prove viable.”
The three countries – along with host Oman – will attend a twenty-cornered series at the end of February.
