The two-game series that will be part of the ICC World Test Championship is now being postponed to a later date that is currently unknown. BCB chief Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said the move was a precautionary measure because it did not want to endanger the health of players, employees or other employees involved in the games.

“In the current COVID-19 pandemic scenario, targeting a full series of cricket in August 2020 will be a preparation challenge and we cannot take any risks to the safety and health of players, support staff and related stakeholders,” Chowdhury said in a press release.
“In these circumstances, BCB and NZC feel that the best way forward is to postpone the series. We are aware that this will be extremely disappointing for the players and officials of both teams, not to mention the fans of the two nations I have to thank NZC for understanding and recognizing the reasons for such a decision. “
