Chennaiyin FC Interested To Sign Sydney FC Striker
In search of Valskis’ replacement, Chennaiyin FC has targeted Australian A-League side Sydney FC’s striker and top scorer this season, Adam Le Fondre, AllSportsPages have learned from our sources in Australia.
Adam Le Fondre is an English striker who has played for the current Premier League side Wolves when they were participating in the Championship. Le Fondre started his club career at Stockport, he was promoted to the Stockport senior side in 2004-05 season.
Adam Le Fondre has represented teams such as Rotherham United, Reading, Cardiff, Bolton Wanderers and Wolves.
Adam Le Fondre also has played in the England’s top tier competition, Premier League, playing for Reading in the season 2012-13. He made a total of 32 Premier League appearance for the club and scored 12 goals. But, unfortunately Reading got relegated to Championship, the 2nd tier of English football pyramid.
He moved to Australia in 2018-19 season when he signed for Sydney FC from Bolton. In his first season in Australia he scored 18 goals in total 29 league matches, including the play-offs.
He remained at the club for the 2019-20 season and has so far scored 17 goals in 20 matches when the league got suspended thanks to the Coronavirus.
Though he has still got a year left in his contract, but it is very much likely that Sydney FC will sell him or terminate his contract as the A-League side is financially struggling due to the COVID-19.
Not only Chennaiyin FC, but according our Australian sources, few other clubs from ISL and Bangladesh are interested to sign the Sydney FC striker.
With the A-League set to resume from 16th July, we might have to wait to find out where is Adam Le Fondre is heading to or he will decide to stay with Sydney FC.
