Indian football fans one and only dream is to see Indian national team play in the World Cup. Currently, the Indian team is ranked 108 in the FIFA Men’s Ranking. Their highest ranking was 97 in the year 2018. Sunil Chhetri lead Indian team is currently playing in joint qualifiers of FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup.
Hero ISL and I-League are top tier football tournaments in India and many domestic stars are performing brilliantly whom maybe in the future will be the next Sunil Chhetri. Many young and tough players are already playing in India’s top Hero ISL.

FOUNDER:
Many football experts think that Hero ISL will play a big role in Indian football development. ISL (Indian Super League) originally founded back in 2013 on the 21st of October in partnership of Reliance Industries, IMG and Star Sports Network.
INAUGURATION:
With the goal of growth in football across the country, ISL was started on 12 October 2014 with the opening match of the tournament being played between Atletico de Kolkata and Mumbai City which as per the report drew approx 75 million television people.
FIRST CHAMPION:
Kolkata which is known as the hub of Indian football, probably the most favourite team to win the inaugural edition of the tournament was this same team. Atletico de Kolkata owned by former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly did manage to reach the final of the tournament where they face-off Cricket’s God Sachin Tendulkar’s team Kerala Blaster. The match crossed the 90 minutes without a goal and was likely to be going into the extra-time but the last moment goal from ATK’s Mohammed Rafique sealed the deal for the Indian football giant ATK right at the death.
MOST TROPHIES:
ATK and Chennaiyin FC are the only team’s to win the trophy 2 times. In 2014 and in 2016 ATK were crowned champion while in 2015 and 2017-2018 Chennaiyin FC were crowned champion. The latest and the defending champion is Bengaluru FC.
FUTURE STARS:
Now, I will mention 3 players name whom I have done really well in the ongoing season. Now all the players are from ATK’s squad, I am ATK fan and I have only watched their matches this season due to some reason.
Prabir Das:
So, the player I would love to mention first is ATK’s right-winger Prabir Das, he has really impressive this season. The 26-year-old can pass some brilliant goal scoring in-swinger just like he is doing this season for ATK. He also capable of scoring a mind-blowing goal.
Michael Soosairaj:
Next is Michael Soosairaj, a brilliant player with a variety of skill. He is capable of passing the between 2 players or passing the through both the legs of a player. If you are searching for a skilful player then Michael Soosairaj is a perfect choice. He can even score the match-winning goal.
With the assist of both Prabir Das and Michael Soosairaj, ATK’s Roy Krishna and David Williams had been so effective this season.
Sumit Rathi:
We talk about both the wingers of ATK, now let’s talk about a 20-year-old young defender named Sumit Rathi. He has been amazing this season in ATK’s defence along with Pritam Kotal and Agus Garcia. The young defender doesn’t fear anyone of the opposition. He has saved many goals this season. He has been seen jostling for the ball with experienced international players and this proves he is all set to be the next big thing in Indian football.
